In her role as an ambassador for the Korean cosmetic brand Wonjungyo, Momo of TWICE lit up the stage at the company’s spring product launch in Tokyo.
Wonjungyo holds a special place in the the hearts of TWICE’s members. The brand was founded by and named for Korean celebrity makeup artist, Won Jungyo, who is also the group’s exclusive makeup artist. Inevitably, the brand’s cosmetic ideals are closely intertwined with the group’s visuals.
Momo’s choice of attire for the occasion, the Alessandra Rich Butterfly Jacquard Silk Mini Dress, was a deliberate ode to the light pink hues seen in Wonjungyo’s branding. Paired with tall, sleek, white heels, Momo exuded boldness and confidence as she took to the stage to speak at the press conference.
Momo’s pastel ensemble not only complemented the brand’s feminine aesthetic, but also served as a canvas to accentuate her makeup for the event, applied by Won herself. Momo’s makeup featured a subtle palette reminiscent of iridescent pearls, and captured the quintessential traits of Korean beauty standards: femininity, elegance, and dewy glow.
While, alone, the pink frock and heels would have evoked a Barbie doll’s classic charm, the pearly makeup took Momo’s outfit from cute and playful to icy and ethereal. As she spoke on stage and posed for the paparazzi’s shots, Momo’s understated expressions and muted smile only added to the icy allure, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.
As Wonjungyo unveiled its new spring collection, Momo’s ensemble mirrored the transition from the icy hues of winter to the blossoming shades of spring. Her outfit was the perfect nod to the fresh makeup and floral fashion trends that arrive with changing seasons.
